Sustainability, to humans, means the potential for long-term maintenance of well being, which has environmental, economic, and social dimensions. We use sustainability to refer to products that do not disregard our ecosystems and life style choices. The ability for the land to produce cotton, without the use of herbicides & pesticides and to yield good quality cotton is what Esperanza Threads hopes to promote. Also the workers who pick the cotton are not exposed to hazardous by-products of the biochemical industries that produce and promote these herbicides and pesticides. This in turn shortens the burden of production of these harmful, petroleum based chemicals.
